The top end of Calle Puerto Errado on Valle del Sol was taken by surprise Wednesday afternoon when a goat could be heard bleating away – on its own and nowhere to go.
A couple of concerned neighbours rounded it up and put it into an empty garden. As they both had dogs it might have been a bit stressful for the animal(s) to have it in their own. A dogs collar and lead were used to restrain the beast and seemed to calm down with the odd bleat whilst trying to get out of its neck brace.
Police were called, took its Registration Number got in touch with the Livestock Veterinary Service to identify the owner.
A call back from the Police said the owner was 2 hours away but would come and pick it up.
“The owner says tie all its legs together to make it safer, if it pulls too much on the collar it could break its neck”
Yeah right – we checked everyones CV and Goat Binding experience was not to be found on any ones present.
So it stayed on the Collar.
There were conversations on “how did the goat get here if it lives 2 hours away” but it was soon pointed out that the “owner” was 2 hours away and coming back – little giggle by some…
The owner did turn up about an hour after it all began, explained that this particular Goat had sight problems which is probably why he got lost – he had his car over in the field behind the houses and with that picked it up by the hind legs and frog – or should that be goat –marched him to his car.
