Good news for anyone who appreciates a traditional bar with typical regional and local tapas is that Bar Pepón has opened its doors again.
The bar was run by the family Pepón for years and it was common to see Jesús, the current leader of the Partido Popular, behind the counter. Unfortunately it closed a couple of years ago, another victim of the financial crisis.
Now under new management the bar offers an early morning breakfast for workers and early risers from 6am as well as mid morning snacks, hot sandwiches, a wide variety of typical Murcia aperitifs and “platos combinados” (traditionally a choice of grilled meats served with egg and chips).
