The Military Emergency Unit (UME) were in Calasparra most of last week rehearsing various search and rescue scenarios in the local and Cieza areas.
The UME carried out search and rescue training in various natural spaces of Calasparra inclusing the river Segura, the Argos and Ojos reservoirs and the Almadenes Canyon.
Calasparra Town Hall put the Municipal Sports Pavillion at the disposal of the Unit and the Mayoress, Teresa Garcia, officially welcomed the officers to Calasparra.
The UME mobilized some 50 agents and a dozen vehicles including a rescue helicopter and an underwater unit. They carried out search and tracking exercises in the reservoirs and rivers and navigation in the AlfonsoXIII, Argos and Ojos reservoirs.
Practice scenarios were also mounted in the river Segura in Calasparra, Quípar-Argos canal, the Almadenes canyon and the Serreta Cave,
