The DOP Calasparra rice will receive the Gold Medal of the Villa 2026
to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Denomination of Origin.
Calasparra Town Hall voted unanimously in favour of awarding the medal.
This award also recognizes the work of the farmers, producers, institutions and all the people who, over the past 40 years, have contributed to maintaining the prestige and quality of the rice.
The award will take place on December 9 at the Gala of the 40th Anniversary of the DOP Calasparra Rice, presented by the Mayoress, Teresa Garcia.
During the ceremony recognition will be given to the Town Halls of the «Coto Arrocero» (Hellín, Moratalla y Calasparra), and the autonomous communities of Castilla-La Mancha and the Murcia region as well as to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Food.
