The Constituional Tribunal has lifted the suspension, applied for by the State, which permits Murcia to apply the regional law on prívate solar panels and renewable energy installions which are “isolated from the grid” or represent an “exchange of energy”.
At the same time this decision enables the small installations of renewable energy, like solar panels, to be considered as “installations for the exchange of energy” so that any energy they produce for the grid does not attract a charge.
The national law, which came into force last week, required all solar panel owners to pay a standing charge for their connection to the national grid. Under the regional law this will not now apply in the Murcia region.
