The Public Prosecution Office, (la Fiscalía) of the autonomous government of Murcia has appealed to residents of Calasparra affected by “Participaciones Preferentes” of any financial institution or bank to report and make their claims through the OMIC office.
The first successful prosecution against the “preferentes” schemes has opened the door for the Public Prosecutor to investigate how to help victims.
The OMIC (Consumer Office) of Calasparra Town Hall will collect all the reports made by residents and send them to the Public Prosecutor.
Various financial institutions and banks have been accused of mis-selling products, such as the preferential schemes, and the successful prosecution may mean victims can finally receive some compensation.
