There will be a special extraordinary meeting of the Town Hall Council tomorrow, Tuesday, when the cuyrrent Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, will officially resign and the new Mayor will be elected by a majority vote.
The meeting will be at 8pm in the Sala de Actos at the Town Hall.
Rumour has it that the current deputy mayor and only paid elected member of ruling PSOE ruling party, José Veléz, will be voted in as the next Mayor. However, the PSOE and the opposition Partido Popular hold the same number of seats on the Town Hall Council and the PSOE will have to depend on a PP defection (unlikely) or the casting vote of the single elected member of the United Left and Greens, Ricardo Garcia.
This is the only matter on the agenda.
