Calasparra will join the national, regional and local authoritites all over Spain in a minute´s silence to commemorate the 193 victims of the terrorist attack 20 years ago in Madrid.
The minute´s silence will be observed at 12 midday in the Plaza de la Corredera in memory of the victims and their families.
Today, March 11, 2024, is 20 years to the day since the worst terrorist attackk ever committed in Spain. Some 192 people died and 1,800 were injured when 10 bombs exploded in the Atocho station, Tellez Strret, and the stations El Pozo and Santa Eugenia. Al Queda claimed responsibility
On April 3 the police found seven of the authors of this attack in a flat in Leganes, where the suspects exploded a bomb to commite suicide killing a police officer in the process.
