GUIDED TOUR OF VILLA VIEJA ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE

There will be a guided tour of the Muslum-Spanish archeological site in Villa Vieja, Calasparra, on Saturday May 11 at 10.30am.
The majority of the development on this site took place during the XII and XIII centuries. The excavations uncovered the deserted settlement with the ruins of various houses and fortifications as well as ceramic material, now on display in the Archeological Musuem in Calasparra.
The Intepretation Centre Villa Vieja, on the site, contains a reproduction of one of the houses with a ceramic trouseau and other tools used by the population. The dwelling includes a letrine, stable, kitchen and one of the salones, with plans and photos of in and around the site.There is also a display of copies of the ceramics discovered in various excavations.

Comfortable clothes and shoes recommended.
