Thanks to the rapid response of the local fire services a forest fire in the Los Marines area of Valentin was extinguished quickly.
The cause of the fire, which broke out at midday on Sunday, is being investigated but official sources have confirmed that it was probably set intentionally.
Last Sunday was one of the hottest days of the year so far and the region of Murcia remains on Yellow Alert for forest fires.
