A new exhibition, called Miradas y Palabras (Views and Words), tracing the transition in the region of Murcia, opens today in the Sala del Comendador.
The exhibition is organized by the regional Foundation Centre of Historical Studies and Investigation and illustrates the role of the first democratic mayors in Murcia.
Among those featured is the first mayor of Calasparra, Francisco Javier Pérez Mayo, born on October 3, 1927, who died on September 13, 2006, and who was Mayor between April 19, 1979 and June 30, 1987.
The exhibition will be officially opened today, Wednesday, October 31, at 8.30pm and will be open until November 18.
Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday 11am to 2pm. Saturdays 10.30am to 2pm.
