The Red Cross and Cartitas, two charitable organisations that operate in Calasparra, received the Keys of the Villa of Calasparra in an emotional ceremony in the Casa de la Cultura.
Yesterday, on the Day of the Region of Murcia, the Salón de la Casa de la Cultura was full to capacity for the awarding of the keys, in the gift of the Town Hall and given in recognition of extraordinary solidarity and work these two organistions have carried out over the years in Calasparra.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, presented the keys and underlined that the recognition «represented the gratitude of the whole town to those who dedicate their lives to help, care for and accompany others».
The Mayoress emphasised the essential role of both organisations during the most difficult moments and their dedication to the Calasparrian society.
