Calasparra relived its history on Sunday evening in a spectacular medieval procession with more than 300 people in costume, stars from the Merino Equestrian Stud Farm, live music colour, dance and history.
Representatives of the Medieval Court: Sancho IV, the Queen María, the King of Granada Aboadile, and the Commander Fernant Pérez, Gran Commander of the Hospital at the head of the procession as it left Calle Textiles en route for central town.
The group, Danza Espiga de Oro, the squadron of Arab Men and Women of the Entre Arrozales Choir, many others dressed in medival costume, a representation of the Rondalla Music and Dance Group with a percussion spectacular, seven music groups, associations coming from various parts of the region, a group of soldiers, and groups from Murcia, Molino de Seguro and Lorca by special inviation, all took part in the event.
A special mention for the favourites of the day, horses from the Merino Stud Farm in Calasparra in full costume joined riders from the Club Hípico Vibeca of Murcia; the Association of Riders from Calasparra, and some residents with horses who completed a magnificant procession.
Here are some photographic memories of the day.
