ELECTRICITY SAVING GADGET IS A FRAUD

If someone comes to your door offering you a gadget which they claim will save you electricity it is probably a fraud, says the local Consumer Office.
One elderly Calasparrian residnt has already forked out 220 euros for a gadget that ostensibly “reduces electricity consumption.” Having second thoughts the residents contacted the Consumer Office and was advised she had probably been subject of a fraud.
In any case the Consumer Office recommends “prudence and common sense” and reminds residents they are under no obligation to contract any service and should not do so without ensuring the offer is official and studying it carefully.
Esperanza Marin, Head of the local Consumer Office, says there are many different electricity companies and tariffs, which can be very confusing and the wrong decision can be very expensive.
