A massive clean up is underway in Calasparra after torrential rain caused floding in houses and businesses all over the town.
Householders and shopkeepers have been affected and emblematic buildings such as the Sala de Actos in the Town Hall, the Music School and the Local Police offices were also affected.
The emergency services on 112 received an avalanche of calls from residents requiring assistance due to flooding although no injuries or grave incidents were reported.
Rural roads and paths around Calasparra have also been affected by flood water, fallen trees and landslides.
Between 60 to 80 litres of rain fell in Calasparra on Monday evening in less than an hour.
