The Superior Tribunal of Justice has authorized the obligatory use of the Covid Certificate for nightlife venues in the region but it remains “optional” for bars and restaurants.
Thus the Tribunal confirms the U-turn by the regional government after it
reversed its decision to impose the use of the Covid Certificate for entry in all bars, restaurants etc.
This measure will be published in the Official Bulletin of the Murcia Region this afternoon and will come into effect at midnight tonight (Friday). It will remain in force until January 14.
The bars and restuarants, which require the Covid Certificate, will still be ruled by the regional alert levels. For Level 1 and 2 the capacity will be set at 100%; level 3 at 75%; and level 4 at 50%.
According to the ruling “those responsible for the establishments (bars, restaurants etc) and celebrations” may opt to require the Covid Certificate for entry to their premises.
The Certificate is obligatory to enter all nightlife venues.
The regional Government has explained that the U-turn “made it easier” that the TSJ would approve the measure if the requirement was “optional” for bars and restaurants. However, the Government has clarified that the sentence is “not firm” and may be appealed during the next three working days.
