The European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced yesterday that it has concluded that the AstraZeneca #COVID19 vaccine is not associated with an increased overall risk of blood clotting disorders.
WHO/Europe and the EMA have both called for the continued use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, as the benefits in protecting people from COVID-19 outweigh the risk of side effects.
The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has confirmed that vaccinations with AstraZeneca will resume from March 24.
Speculation over the death of a man after being vaccinated had fuelled fears over the vaccine. However, it has been concluded that the vaccination and the death were not related.
