There were no new diagnosis of the virus Covid-19 in Calasparra in the last 24 hours for the first time in almost two weeks.
Currently there are 71 active cases of the virus but Calasparra remains in a state of “extreme risk.”
Regionally the trend for confirmed cases continues to fall from over 1000 a day less than a week ago to less than 200 in the last 24 hours.
However, the level of fatalities continues to rise with 150 in the last seven days and 24 over the last 24 hours.
Hospitals and intensive care units are under extreme pressure as 53 more Covid patients were admitted in the last 24 hours.
Jaime Pérez of the regional Covid Tracing Committee has appealed once again to people to curb their social contacts, stay at home and limit going out to an absolute minimum. He also reminded the population of the prohibition to meet or get together with anyone outside members of their household.
The level of alert regionally remains “extreme” and 40 of the 45 municipal areas are at “extreme risk” level of alert.
In Yecla, Moratalla, Albudeite, Mula, Fortuna, Caravaca, Ricote and Jumilla all non-essential businesses and shops must close by 6pm and remain closed over the weekend.
In the rest of the region non-essential shops and businesses must close by 8pm and bars and restaurants remain closed.
The curfew is still in place from 10pm to 6am.
The accumulated incidence of Covid-19 per 100,000 head of population has fallen by 40% to 423.
According to Jaime Perez this reduction is due to “society complying with the measures introduced.”
