There are more than 50 new clusters of Coronavirus in Spain as the “new normality” takes effect and autonomous communities (regional authorities) take over the control of the management of the virus and any measures of confinement or backtracking to Phases of the State of Alarm.
In the region of Murcia there have been three new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of people currently affected by the virus to 74. Of these 63 are isolated at home and the remainder are in hospital.
The autonomous communities are obliged to inform the government of the numbers of confirmed cases in their province but the Government will not be publishing national statistics daily from, now on.
Parts of Cataluña, Aragon, Galicia and Albacete have reported substantial clusters and confinement measures and restrictions on travel to and from some areas, towns and buildings in these provinces have been imposed.
Readers are advised to check with the regional authorities of Spanish provinces before travelling to check whether restrictions are in place. Go to local webpages for the local Town Hall (name of town and Ayuntamiento) and/or regional authorities (Autonomous Communities) to check details before travelling.
