A concert, a benefit gala in aid of the victims of the Lorca earthquake and an opportunity to cheer on the intrepid youngsters from the Municipal Canoe Club as they pursue the regional championship, all this weekend.
Tonight, Friday there are two events: the poetry reading in the Casa de la Cultura to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the assassination of Federico Garcia Lorca and an Exhibition Tournament of Eskimo Rolls by the Municipal Canoe Club in the Municipal Swimming Pool at 9pm.
Tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 10am the Calasparra Canoe Club hosts the VIII Murcian White Water Slalom Cup with teams from all over the region competing. The river is higher and faster than ever this year so this will make an excellent spectator sport.
On Saturday night the local Chamber of Commerce is organizing a typical Ibiza Fiesta in aid of the victims of the earthquake in Lorca. The dinner costs 15€ or, after 11.30pm entry is free with a compulsory consumption of 3.50€. Participants must wear white.
Also on Saturday night there is a concert by local music group, Umbria, at the Ecce Homo. There will be a bar.
On Sunday the Municipal Canoe Club would like to invite you to their Open Day and a chance to join in the Grand Raft Ride down the River Segura.
