A member of the local Club Alpino, Ana Isabel Jiménez, took second place in the women´s trials of the 10th edition of the Half Mountain Marathon held every year in Calasparra in honour of Antonio de Béjar.
Ana recorded a time of 1.25, just eight seconds off the record.
Out of the 250 runners in this gruelling event over the Sierra del Molino some 30 athletes were from Calasparra.
