The Met Office (AEMET) has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for Calasparra for torrential rain on Wednesday March 5 and Thursday March 6.
According to the Met Office 60 ml of rainfall is likely in just 12 hours which may cause flash flooding on roads, minor roads and country roads.
It is inadvisable to travel on roads during this period and, if travel is essential, extreme precaution is advised.
In case of any emergency or incident please call the Emergency Services on 112.
Editors Note:
These warnings may often seem like an unnecessary precaution, however, flash flooding on minors roads and country paths is usually rapid and very dangerous. This week in Lorca a 50 year old man, who went to check on his animals, was swept away by fast moving flood water in his van and emergency services were unable to rescue him in time. His body was later found some distance from his van.
Please heed this warning, avoid travel if you can, keep away from minor and country roads if you must travel and stay safe!!
