VOLUNTEERS JOIN RIVER RESCUE PATROL

Calasparra has created an Water Rescue Group which will be active throughout the summer as part oF the  Plan COPLA on the Segura river beach.
This morning the Head of Citizen Security,  Antonio Merino with the Coordinater of the Protección Civil of Calasparra, César Reales, and Paco Sánchez, Technical Expert in emergency situations, presented a training plan for the Rescue Group which counts on 15 volunteers who will form part of the Emergency team for the municipal area.
From July 1 to the end of the summer a team with a coordinator and two lifesavers with boats, canoes and a support vehicle will be on duty every day on the beach from 11am to 7pm.
Today Paco Sánchez and part of the Rescue Group carried out different drills with the volunteer, who have undergone security training and rescue tecniques to enable them to take part in river rescues.
