Twenty volunteers took part in the II Volunteer Clean Up Day at the Almadenes Canyon and cleared 25 kilos of residues from the river.
They collected eight sacks of rubbish from the stretch of the river between the Canyon and the Mulata Dam including plastic bottles and bags, tins and corks.
“Fortunately, substantially less than less year,” Gabriel Buendía, technician, speaking on Radio Calasparra.
The activity was supported by the General Directorate of the Environment and culminated with the planting of ash and willow trees.
