The statue of Our Lady of Hope will be carried down to Calasparra from the Sanctuary in a special pilgrimage and will spend the month of May in the town.
During the month there will be several flower ceremonies including the customary Floral Offering in the Alegria area of Calasparra, and the traditional meeting between the statue and the statues of the patron saints of the town , St Abdón and Senen.
During the month there will be food collections in aid of Caritas.
The programme for the month is as follows:
There will be special masses every day at 8pm and 10pm at St Peter´s Church during May and early June. All masses in the programme below are at St Peter´s Church unless otherwise stated.
Wednesday May 1
1pm Mass at the Sanctuary
3pm Buses for the Sanctuary will leave from outside Bar Pepón
5pm Pilgrimage to Calasparra with the statue of Our Lady of Hope will begin from the Sanctuary.
7.30pm The Rondalla music group will perform and dance at the gates of the Municipal Football Ground, la Caverina.
8pm The statue of Our Lady of Hope will arrive in Calasparra and meet with the statues of the patron saints in the Football Ground.
9pm Procession to the Merced Church and a mass.
Friday May 3
8pm Mass sung by the Rociero Choir and Amanacer of Calasparra.
Saturday May 4
8pm Mass and collection of non perishable foodstuffs for Caritas
