The Veterans Football Club of Calasparra has raised 1,507 euros for the local branch of the Spanish Association against Cancer by staging a charity football tournament during the September Fiestas.
The funds were raised by charging an entrance fee for the tournament with Hercules FC and Elche FC and raffles.
Although the event is in its fourth year this is the first time the Veterans have staged the event for charity. The Club has announced that all future tournaments will be in aid of local charities.
