The Regional Health Authority has lifted the restriction on bars and restaurants in the region requiring them to close by 1am.
The decision was made after analysing the data on Covid-19 which shows a 30% drop in cases since last week.
The measure comes into effect this week.
However, nightlife venues continue to have a 75% restriction on capacity and a Covid certificate is required on entry.
Other restrictions are still in effect such as the requirement to remain seated while eating or drinking and, although the capacity in open air spaces is 100%, the restriction on 12 people per table remains in force.
The regional authority warns that despite the fall in the numbers of cases, the statistics for the region “remain high”.
