Know the Spanish driving laws, Spanish general knowledge and, of course, deal with the pirates, this was the challenge for those who took part in the first annual MABS Murcia North West Car Treasure Hunt on May 13.
The hunt started off at from the apartment’s car park on Valle del Sol, staggering the starts for the 8 cars of 29 people that took part.
The route took us via Calasparra, Valentine, Embalse de Argos, Canara and then back towards Calasparra, ending the hunt at The Sanctuary. Each car had 40 pieces of information to collect and a quiz covering such topics as Spanish driving laws, Spanish general knowledge and of course pirates (it being a treasure hunt after all).
The route took on average just under 2 hours and the hunters were met at the finish line where they exchanged their answers for a burger.
The winners were The Muppets and Diane King was present with the prodigious Treasure Hunt plaque.
Organisers would like to thank everyone who took part, the raffle prize donators, David and Debbie from Simply Art who designed and made the plaque, and Inside Out – San Javier who funded the plaque.
The total raised was 257 euros.
MABS next fundraising event will be the MABS Summer Ball tol be held at La Daya on Wednesday August 19 with a disco fever theme. Watch this space for further information next month.
