Proposed improvements to Caravaca-Calasparra-Venta de Olivo Road; the future of Calasparra Station; and staffing at the Emergency Health Centre were on the agenda when the Mayor of Calasparra met the President of the regional government.
José Vélez, Mayor of Calasparra, sought assurances from the President over the future of improved road links with Caravaca and Venta de Olivo in the light of the positive environmental impact report.
He also sought assurances on the future of the railway station in Calasparra.
A by pass for the B-20, which passes through the centre of Valentin were also discussed.
The Mayor asked the President to resolve staff shortages at the Emergency Department in Calasparra, which mean the centre was left unattended when staff were called out on an emergency.
He also proposed that the current nursery school should be converted into a Day Centre for adult dependents once the school had transferred to its new premises and asked for economic assistance to improve some municipal buildings.
