The region of Murcia is officially in a period of drought with farmers who have fruit trees and olives in the “secano” (land that depends on rain wáter) applying to the local government for emergency irrigation water.
However, there is little prospect of rain this week although temperatures will be slightly cooler, dropping by four or five degrees, and today and tomorrow will have cloudy intervals.
Thursday and Friday will be brighter and warmer but by the weekend the thermometers will drop again.
There is a possibility of rain on Sunday, according to the forcasters, but here in Calasparra we are not holding our breath!!
