Anyone walking a dog in Calasparra without the necessary tools to clear up its excrement could be fined whether the animal fouls or not.
The Town Hall has announced that the local police will impose fines of 150 euros on pet owners who do not carry the necessary equipment to clear up their pet´s excrement ie. a bag and utensils .
The move is aimed at clearing up the streets of the town.
There will also be fines for owners with “dangerous breeds of dogs” which are not wearing a muzzle and owners who let their dogs roam free in the streets.
The local police also remind residents that it is obligatory to register dangerous breeds of dogs and failing to do so can result in a fine of between 300 and 2,400 euros.
