The Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, has presented a cheque for 581 euros to the animal charity, Dogs Rescue, Calasparra.
The funds were raised at the Summer Fiesta of the Summer School organised by Calasparra Town Hall and will be used to pay vet´s bills, dog food and other expenses.
The Mayor presented the cheque to Juan Jose Lopez, Animal Protector, Ana Guirao, President, and Rosa Soto, Treasurer, of Dogs Rescue.
Dogs Rescue cares for dogs which have been abandoned or ill treated in the Calasparra area. The animals are available for adoption and the organisation welcomes more volunteers.
