SUMMER PARTY RAISES ALMOST 800 EUROS FOR DOGS RESCUE

The Summer Fiesta Night at the Alandalus in the Valle del Sol Saturday night raised a magnificent 770 euros.
Here is a report from Rik Mead.

Over 50 people attended the Summer Fiesta Night at the Alandalus on Valle del Sol, raising funds for the Dogs Rescue Charity in Calasparra.
Music across the decades soon got feet tapping for an hour, then the Raffle was held.   An amazing number of prizes were generously donated by the party goers and supporters not able to attend the night, ranging from bottles of Red, White and Rose Wine, Lambrusco; Bacardi, Fragranced Candles, Tea; Biscuit Basket, Bathroom Smellies along with Bath and Shower Gels.
There were also some “spot prizes” generously donated by local businesses: Two Café con Leches and two Cakes from Saboreando; a Menu del Dia and 24 Bottles of Estrella from the Titanium at Cabezo Negro; and a Paella Meal for two including drinks from Alfonso at the Alandalus.
The lucky winners were selected by a very young guest, who did an excellent job choosing people at random.
There were also spot prizes for the dance floor and one for smoochers: Mini Cakes, Biscuits, Bottle of Body Spray, and a tin of Sardines (!) all went to these well deserved first timers.
Quite a few participation tracks meant there was plenty of action with Macarena / Jerusalema / YMCA / Bailando / Single Lady, to name a few, where folks joined in displaying their artistic talents!
The party went on until just after midnight when things started to slow down and the final song by Barry White brought things to a close.
Final amount raised 770 euros, which was a fantastic amount leaving the Charity amazed at the generosity of everyone present or those who could not make it donating anyway
Was it a good night?   We think so!
