The Guardia Civil have recuperated five fork lift trucks, one from the industrial estate in Calasparra, when they brought down a criminal gang who allegedly used force to steal heavy machinery from rural properties.
The forklift found in Calasparra had been stolen from a farm in Cieza.
According to the Guardia Civil the method used by the gang was to use force to access the farms, first stealing the lorry to transport the forklift from the same property before loading the forklift and moving it to its new destination.
In an operation called ‘Zoopicare’, mounted by the Guardia Civil and the ROCA Team (specialists in thefts from farms etc), five forlifts were recuperated and three people arrested.
The suspects appeared before magistrates in Cieza before being released on bail.
All the thefts were committted in Cieza.
