Two shepherds from Calasparra who found an unidentified object, in the form of a black sphere, in the middle of a field between Mula and Calasparra yesterday afternoon, are convinced the object “fell out of the sky.”
They immediately contacted the Guardia Civil to examine the sperical object which measures more than a metre in diameter. No traces of any other debris were found at the site.
The Guardia Civil sealed the area off and called the Bomb Squad who, after a thorough examination , declared there was no danger of explosion. They also found there no radiation emanating from it and that it did not present any danger. The sphere was removed for further examination.
However, sources report that the shepherds were right! The object probably just fell out of the sky.
It bears a strong resemblance to other space debris found in various parts of the world. The most likely explanation is that it is part of one of the rocket launchers from a space craft.
This leaves our shepherds with a story to tell and they surely will, around all the bars in Calasparra!
