The Health Minister, Salvador Illa, gave a press conference yesterday evening to clarify the new rules on walks and exercise which come into force tomorrow Saturday May 2.
These rules apply to anyone over 14 years although there are time slots for different ages when going for a walk in order to avoid groups and crowds.
There are different rules for taking a walk and taking exercise, however, to do either you may not use the car to go somewhere but must remain in your municipal area.
Exercise must be unaccompanied but individuals may use bicycles, scooters, roller skates or even surf boards (although you may have difficulty using them in Calasparra), maybe canoes (individual of course).
Exercise may be for more than one kilometer but always with the municipal boundaries.
Adults from the age 14 years old upwards may go out for walks or to do exercise within the time slot of 6am to 10am, and from 8pm to 11pm. Once a day, one hour only. Walks up to 1km.
Dependent adults (elderly, those with a carer, etc) may go out between 10am and 12 midday, and between 7pm and 8pm. Walk is Once a day, one hour. Radius 1km. Inside the municipal area.
Children (under 14 years old) may now only go out between 12 midday and 7pm. Under the same conditions as before, with only one adult, maximum three children. No meetings with other children nor adults, nor playing with others. Once a day, for one hour. Radius 1km. Inside the municipal area.
Walking can be accompanies with one person who you live with, for one hour, up to one kilometer, once a day.
Masks are recommended when you go walking, particularly in areas, such as the town, urbanisations etc where you are likely to meet other people. Social distancing must be maintained at all times. (2 metres from anyone else).
You must not use communal areas such as parks and sports pitches.
When you return home do not enter the house with shoes you have used outside. Reserve them for outside use. Clothes should be placed in plastic bag and then washed. Equipment should be cleaned and disinfected. Then wash your hands.
Remember walks accompanied but exercise alone!
Walks have time slots and are restricted to a radius of one kilometre.
Exercise is only limited by the municipal boundaries.
There are different time slots for different age groups for both exercise and walking.
Also permitted from tomorrow May 2 is travelling on an individual basis within the municipal area to feed animals or tend land or allotments for gorwing vegtables or fruit for your own consumption. One adult may be accompanied by a minor of the family.
