Following two weeks of protests and negotiations the school dining room at the Esperanza Primary School will re-oped next week with meals at the orginal price of 5.27 euros.
Speaking on Radio Calasparra, Maria Dolores Valcarcel, Director General of Centres, explained that the process of re-opening the dining room had been delayed because not enough pupils had applied for school meals and confirmed that free school meals had been granted to 14 of the 20 applicants.
The existing service provider has agreed to re-open the dining room on Monday at the original price.
The Esperanza school meals service is the only one in Calasparra and the Department of Education are currently considering opening the service to other schools in the area.
