SAFER ROUTES FOR CYCLISTS

Some 16 kilometres of road, passing through Calasparra, has been especially signposted, speed limits reduced and special weekend patrols for drugs and alcohol installed, as part of the plan to safeguard cyclists.
The Director General of Traffic announced on July 31 that the RM-C1 (from where it starts along the 16 k route which passes for Calasparra, Moratalla, Alcantarilla, Barranda and Almudena), the RM-C2 and the RM-A10, are included in this first stage of the plan.
The measures are aimed to reduce the risk for cyclists using the roads.
In addition, there will be controls by helicopters, which will photograph vehicles that do not observe a safe distance when passing cyclists.
