The long anticipated visit by the statue of the Virgin from the Sanctuary will form part of the annual a pilgrimage on Tuesday May 1 between 5 and 7pm.
As is traditional the statues of the patron saints of Calasparra will be brought out to mark the occasion accompanied by the Association Band of Music.
Anyone can take part in the pilgrimage from the Sanctuary to the town which follows a mass. However, if you are not feeling that energetic Calle Socovos is the high point of the evening when local residents throw rose petals from upstairs windows and the street is paved in sweet smelling rosemary
