Natural spaces on the Sierra del Molino and the Sierra del Cerezo, Mortatalla, have been regenerated and reforested according to a statement by the General Director of the Environment.
The 97,405 euro Project funded by La Caixa, Murcia, has included work to re-establish the vegetation covering 36.9 hectares of mountainside in the two areas. Species of forest trees have been planted and irrigation sustems established on the Sierra Molino to encourage growth.
The project has also provided work for 10 people at risk from social exclusion.
