RAIN MAY SAVE WILD ASPARAGUS HARVEST

March is traditionally the month that the Calasparrians take to the mountains to hunt for wild asparagus but the lack of rain this year has meant pickings are scarce.
However, this may all change according to the Met Office, which predicts three days of falling temperatures and the high possibility of rainfall over the next two days.
More specifically the temperature today will be a chilly 13 degrees with a mínimum of 6 degrees and a possibility of showers. Tomorrow much of the same with maximums slightly higher but the night will feel cold. Friday will be cloudy and slightly warmer with maximums of 17 but minimums will drop to 5 degrees.
By Sunday it will all be over and spring will return. It should be warm, about 21 degrees, although night time temperatures will remain low. By Tuesday we will be enjoying a balmy 25 degrees during the day.
The mixture of sun and rain, if it comes, is a perfect climate for the asparagus which likes wet, warm conditions. So everyone should be happy!!
