The Head of the local Department of Agriculture has put three pieces of public land into the Municipal Land Bank and made them available for rent to local residents to grow their own vegetables.
The move aims to give an impulse to self-employment and promote social, ecological and business initiatives connected to agriculture, as well as put idle public land to use.
Anyone interested has until March 28 to apply. The offer is principally aimed at unemployed people, young people and people over 50 years old.
There is more information at the Sede Electrónica de Calasparra, which can be accessed through a link on calasparra.org.
