The ruling PSOE Socialist Party in Calasparra will present a motion at the next Full Council Meeting after meeting with representatives from the urbanizations in Calasparra and of the Postal Service, Correos.
Currently, although the urbanisations have a package delivery service, the postal service does not reach the over 200 homes on the Valle del Sol, Canada Manrique, Canada Cerde and Coto Riñales.
The motion presented by the PSOE, which has an ample majority on the Full Council, will demand for an improvement in the services provided by Correos to the urbanisations.
Over the past few months representatives of the residents on the four local urbanisationas have met with the Government Team at the Town Hall to present their complaints and suggestion regarding the postal service. Since then the Government Team has met with representatives of Correos to work on an agreement between the urbanisations and Correos to improve this service including a survey of every home to ensure that the postal service deliver post in the most efficient manner possible.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, has also had various conversations with the current President of Correos España, Pedro Saura, and has started a round of contacts and surveys aimed to satisfy the residents’ complaints. To this end the PSOE apply to the la Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) a la Sociedad Estatal de CORREOS y Telégrafos (the two State Organarizations responsible for Correos) to improve the postal service Correos to the urbanisations “Valle del Sol – Cañada Manrique”, “Cañada Verde” and “Coto Riñales”, in a manner that all the homes benefit from the same postal service as the rest of the general public.
