MABS SUMMER PARTY RAISES MORE THAN 400 EUROS

MABS Summer Party Report by Rik Mead
A small but beautifully formed group of people, pictured here, who supported the MABS SUMMER Party raised 415 euros for the local Cancer Charity.  This included donations from those not able to attend, very generous – thank you.
Being the first Charity Party to be held in the Pensioners Club, it was good to hear that those attending were pleasantly surprised by the Terrace location with a lovely view of the Molino Mountain in the background.
Alfonso had set up a separate bar on the Terrace, so it was only a short walk to quench the partygoer’s thirst. Prices were the same as at the Alandalus which was appreciated.
So many raffle Prizes!  Donations were amazing with plenty of great quality prizes to choose from.  MABS received prize donations from people who could not attend which boosted everyone’s chances of winning a gift.  Michelle on the table “guarding” the gifts, Jessica and Amy pulling the tickets out created a good team and was a slick set up:
There was a presentation to Tom who since 2011, when ABBA Elite came to Calasparra and entertained 150 plus people in La Daya, has attended all but 1 or 2 of the Parties. As Tom & his Mum are going back to UK shortly. Rick presented Tom with a memory Photo Frame of his time at the Calasparra Party nights which included him receiving an ABBA sweatshirt from the girls in the group, Tom dancing with Michelle (favourite partner) and his two mates Phil & George.
Plenty of opportunities to dance as the music played varied between Disco, Pop, ABBA, Bee Gees & Motown.  Unfortunately, there were some unexpected breaks due to a fault somewhere along the line when Ricks system had to be re-booted. Once up and running though, it was back to the dancefloor.
Quite a few people had tables boked at various restaurants from 10pm onwards but it was very generous of them to support the MABS Charity Party beforehand which meant only a few diehards were still around at the close of the evening.
MABS Charity are 415 euros better off thanks to all the people who came along or could not make it on the night.
