Yesterday, Sunday, the streets of Calasparra were tinted pink and the Rice Grower´s Fountain now sports a new pink scarf.
Crowds wearing the pink shirt of the Association Calasparra Se Mueve took to the streets against cancer in the annual Pink March.
Organised by Calasparra Se Mueve and Calasparra Town Hall the march began with the cry: “Si, se Puede”.
The march started at Cine Rosales at around 11am the wave of pink followed the traditional route, stopping first at the local OAPs Residence where staff and residents turned out in support.
Second stop was the Rice Grower´s Fountain where Isaac Guerrero put the symbolic pink scarf around the statue´s neck.
Then back to the Cine Rosales after marching through the main streets of the town and the Plaza de la Corredera.
At Cine Rosales the music group, Albores, was waiting to play their new record “Navega Marinera” live.
For the past few days Calasparra Town Hall has been illuminated by pink lighting in support of the fight against cancer and the International Day against Cancer on October 19.
