There are currently 124 active cases of Covid-19 detected in Calasparra, 10 of which were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
In Caravaca there are 582 active cases and 64 new; in Cehegin 233 active cases and 32 new; and in Moratalla there are 152 active cases and 25 new.
In the 24 hours ending at midnight on January 1 just 804 cases of the virus were diagnosed in the region. As always, this figure may be an underestimation due to the lack of testing during fiesta days and weekends. However, the contagions have been hovering over the 3,000 mark daily for the past three days and, according to experts, this may be a trend.
The number of contagions in the region has risen by 60% over the last week.
Sadly, to men of 99 years died of Covid-19 in the region.
