RENFE has expanded the hybrid service
so passengers can travel to Madrid early in the morning on weekdays and return
in the evening.
The Alvia service between Murcia and Madrid doesn´t stop in Calasparra anymore
but passengers can catch it from Cieza or Hellin.
The journey takes 3 hours and 24 minutes Murcia to Madrid and starts from May
20.
At the weekends passengers can travel to Madrid on Saturday morning and travel back
on Sunday evening.
The train. Series 730, uses the high
speed rail between Madrid and Albacete and the conventional rail between
Albacete and Murcia.
It has diesel and electric traction and has five different systems of control
and safety. It can travel at a maximum of 250k an hour for the high speed rail
and 180k per hour on the conventional rail, which is not electrified.
