The traditional nativity scenes and model crypts are very popular in Spain and many households spend the year collecting figures and scenery for their own “Belen.”
Every year the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Hope organizes a competition for the best nativity scene and the best model crypt and offers three prizes in each category.
The competition is open to individuals or groups and the models can be installed in shop windows, windows or in people´s homes. The jury will visit to judge the models on December 26 and 27.
You must sign on as a participant before 2pm on December 19 at the Mayordomo Offices , 8, Calle Socovos in Calasparra.
The prizes will be handed out at a ceremony on January 3.
If you are more of an on-looker don´t forget to visit the municipal nativity scene (Belen) in the Cine Rosales over the Christmas period.
