Hospitals all over Spain are facing collapse as the contagions for Covid-19 reach three times the “extreme risk” level of 250 cases per every 100,000 inhabitants.
In the region 137 more people were hospitalized with the virus over the past 24 hours and, sadly, 12 more people died.
Calasparra has 69 active cases, 11 of which were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
National, regional and municipal authorities are appealing for people to self-isolate and only leave home for essential shopping and emergencies.
Bars and restaurants in Calasparra are closed, the municipal boundary is closed, the regional perimeter is closed. All shops and businesses in the region must close by 8pm except supermarkets, chemists and other shops selling basic essentials.
The vaccination programme continues and second doses are being given to those in the first stage: people living or working in residences and frontline medical staff.
However, the numbers continue to rise.
