If you see a line of military vehicles, helicopters and military personnel in Calasparra today, don´t worry it´s not an invasion!!!
The national emergency force, UME, will be carrying out exercises in Calasparra over the next few days to prepare for the rescue and flooding campaign.
These multi-risk exercises will take place between October 18 and 22.
Some 340 soldiers and 128 vehicles will arrive in Cieza and Calasparra from Valencia as well as a battalion of helicopters.
Calasparra Town Hall has put the Municipal Sports Pavilion at the disposal of the UME.
Among the objectives of the exercises are search and rescue of people missing during floods and assistance and evacuation of victims of earthquakes, securing collapsed buildings and the installation of a Point of Assistance.
